My six year old son gets excited about catching and pinning one insect the most – grasshoppers. He is remarkably good at catching them too! It takes patience, speed, accuracy and stamina to be an accomplished grasshopper hunter because, well, they are fast!
I’m seeing lots of grasshoppers this year at Wheeler Farm so this post is dedicated to their control. Diane Alston with the Utah Pests team wrote a past article on grasshopper control that I feel is very much worth reading. Who knows, maybe some of you will decide to shake up your normal exercise routine with some grasshopper hunting cardio sessions!
