You know it’s serious when a blog title gets 5 exclamation points, but there is a new pest in town and it deserves all of them!!!!!

If you’ve never heard of the Japanese beetle, you need to learn about it.  We’ve seen it before in Utah and chased it out of town, that was then and now it’s back!  And if you’ve lived in a place with Japanese beetle, you know how devastating it can be to gardens!  If you see it, we need to know about it – please report any suspicious Japanese beetle sightings to mastergardener@usu.edu!  Here is a recent KSL.com article about current Utah Department of Food and Agriculture (UDAF) eradication plans.
